HAVE YOUR UTILITIES TURNED ON TWO DAYS BEFORE YOU GET HERE, CALL US AND TELL US THE DATE THEY WILL BE TURNED ON AND WE CAN MAKE SURE THE UNIT IS CLEAN AND COOL.

WATER AND TRASH.  BOLIVAR CITY HALL 1-417-326-2489  Go to City Hall.  Ask for the water department.  There will be a $100 deposit which you can pay by cash, check (or credit card with a fee).  Their hours of operation are Monday through Thursday 7AM - 6PM and Friday 8AM - 5PM.  Go early and the water might be turned on the same day.  There is no Turn On / Turn Off service on Saturday.  The water department will ask you if you want trash pickup.  Trash pickup costs $15 / MONTH.  Trash drop-off is available for ~ $1 / BAG.

EMPIRE ELECTRIC  1-800-206-2300  Empire has closed their local office.  Accounts must  be established over the phone.  Have access to a fax machine.  Empire will want, at least, the following information for you and your roommates:

  1. Drivers license information
  2. Social security number
  3. Place of employment, occupation, length of employment

Service will take at least 24 hours to turn on.  A deposit may be required.  A deposit may be waived for a new customer if the customer can supply the company with one of the following:  A good letter of credit (no more than 5 late pays in the last 12 months), a qualified guarantor signs for the customer, the customer has been employed full time for one year and has an adequate source of regular income or the customer is purchasing a home.  Read the EMPIRE CUSTOMER HANDBOOKWood's Grocery accepts payments for Empire Electric.

INTERNET ACCESS, TV, AND TELEPHONE 1-417-326-1096 OR 1-800-935-4353  WINDSTREAM is our local landline telephone, high-speed internet access via DSL, and cable tv company.  They also represent DISH NETWORK SATELLITE TV.  Cable TV takes four days to turn on.  DISH NETWORK takes at least two days when they are not busy.
